I made a $1,050 down payment from my savings, so the cost of my car is 19,736.00. The interest rate is 1.99% if you have good credit. I will pay 5.1% sales tax (1006.54). The cost to register a car in Wisconsin is $75.
Total loan: 19736.00+1006.54+75 = 20,817.54
Maintenance
- To and from work I drive 872 miles. To account for fun and errands, I will round up to 1000 miles per month. My car gets 27 mpg and the current cost of gas is $2.12. I will spend $78.52 per month on gas.
- Oil change: an oil change costs approximately $35 and is needed every three months. I will allocate $11.67 each month.
- Rotate tires: I will have my tires rotated as part of my oil change service.
- Windshield wipers: I will change my wipers when necessary, probably once a year.
- Wash cars: I will not wash my car, so this is not an added expense.
- Unexpected Repairs: As I drive a newer car, I will only budget $100 for repairs each month
